A year of turning compliance work into practical change.

KEES's first full year focused on the same problem across very different clients: energy and carbon obligations are rarely the real bottleneck. The real bottleneck is fragmented data, thin internal capacity, and reporting cycles that don't line up. Our job in 2025 was to close those gaps with tools clients can keep using long after the engagement ends.

On the private side, that meant lead-assessor-led ESOS Phase 4 audits, energy and carbon management tools that consolidate SECR, ESOS and CRP into a single source of truth, and third-party-verified EPDs delivered on tight product-launch timelines. On the public side, embedded engineering placements gave local authority FM teams the ability to model, prioritise and secure funding for site-level improvements themselves, with KEES stepping back once the capability was in place.

Underpinning all of it: workshops. Ten Energy Management Awareness sessions across the year brought 75+ energy professionals through practical, live-example teaching on ISO 50001, ESOS and MEES readiness. The market signal was consistent. Teams want the how, not more of the what.

Data lives everywhere except where you need it.

Every ESOS engagement started the same way: sub-meter data in one system, half-hourly in another, invoices in a third. Consolidation isn't a nice-to-have, it's the audit.

Seven weeks is a realistic ESOS window — with the right prep.

KAB Seating went from introduction to full ESOS compliance in seven weeks. That's only possible when the site data is triaged before the site visit, not during.

One tool, three obligations.

Flannery Plant Hire replaced fragmented ESOS / SECR / CRP reporting with a single Energy & Carbon Management Tool feeding all three from actual operational data, removing the annual scramble.

Verified EPDs can move quickly without cutting corners.

Five third-party-verified EPDs for EPAS in under six months, component-by-component in OneClick LCA, no shortcut groupings. Fast is not the enemy of rigorous.

Multi-party contracts need a single tracker.

Italia Conti's Woking district heating tangle resolved once four parties worked from one KEES-owned tracker. 15% cost savings followed the shared visibility, not the technical fix.

ISO 50001 unlocks more than an ESOS exemption.

Clients pursuing 50001 for ESOS coverage found the operational discipline paid back in day-to-day energy management, a stronger argument than compliance alone.

Public sector delivery: from portfolio modelling to city-wide policy.

Two public-sector engagements in 2025 went beyond a single-site audit, each left behind a tool or standard the client owns.
